Are these movies shown on individual screens in each seat, or are they on a drop-down screen that everybody has to watch?
When the Iranians call US the Great Satan, I’ve been told they’re referring to the porn that the US spreads worldwide. Anybody know if that’s the case?

I have not seen a large drop down screen on a plane in the last 25 years.

Although not a bad reason, I’m not so sure it is true. They call Israel the Little Satan. Who knows what they think?
My understanding is that Iran and other Islamic countries call us the Great Satan is our support of Israel. They call Israel the Little Satan.
Their imams expound long and hard about all the divisions of western culture. Movies. Sports. Gourmet cooking. Playing music. Dancing. Ice skating. Driving in the country, swimming in a lake or pool. Fishing.
On and on and on.
Islam teaches a harsh life of self denial, spending time in prayer, in meditation, and in memorizing the Koran and the Hadith.
So.their hate extends to every pleasant pastime which offers diversion and entertainment. And the reason is that it dilutes the time spent deepening commitment to Allah. Any and every diversion competes with Islam.
Go spend some time over there and pay attention to what goes on around.
If you return alive you will have a deeper understanding of what drives their hatred.
They hate everything about us, that’s just an excuse. It’s not like there’s giant screens in Damascus that we’ve erected and force them at gunpoint to watch porno.
Wrong, they are on my authority as retired member of the foreign service, the den of spies, aka, US Missions abroad or more to the point our Embassies. Everyone of these has a CIA Chief of Mission.
