That’s the truth! I ride a Specialized Jynx 27.5 and only ride the Trek hybrid on greenways and back country roads, at least I did before I hurt my foot. I don’t do traffic.

A friend is one of the motorcycle riders in many of the tours here in the US, he was driving the bike that carried the on-course reporter at the TOC last year. Although he said he does not have any inside information, he said the same thing, cycling as a spectator sport dying, but suggested they need more criteriums to bring people out.

Far East bay Mount tamalpais and golden gate rec area Marin Tamrancho and pt Reyes and Loma Alta. Marin San Mateo hills. Many parks and options Huddart ( illegal but great ! ) off king mtn road (84) My town of fairfax ( Marin ) has the world mountain bike museum and claim to birthplace of mountain biking - 11 bars , two biker 🚴♀️ bars and great food too

Crits and time trials give spectators more bang for their buck. Otherwise you can wait by the roadside for hours to get a five-minute glimpse of the peloton as it speeds by.
