The death of Robert F Kennedy's 22-year-old granddaughter Saoirse Kennedy Hill was caused by an accidental overdose.

A death certificate released on Friday revealed that Saoirse was found unresponsive at the Kennedy Compound back on August 1 due to a fatal mixture of prescription medications, methadone and alcohol.

Among the prescription drugs found in her system were diazepam and nordiazepam (first marketed as Valium), fluoxetine (Prozac) and norfluoxetine (the anti-depressant Luoxetine).

Her death came just one month before she was set to start her senior year at Boston College.

I’m talking about two entirely different cases.

Sorry in that case.
Plenty of people seem to think that it’s always someone else’s fault when they run into problems with drugs.

I thought that was known on day one. This must just be the official report.

Sor-cha.

It’s Gaelic, a foreign language. I, too, have a strange Gaelic name. It’s pretty but people murder it on paper and verbally.

Methadone and alcohol? This was no accident.

Isn’t methadone a drug to wean people off of heroin?

Methadone was/is ostensibly used to wean people off heroin, but it gets you plenty high on its own. If you want to get really, really high just cap your dose with a benzo, like xanax or valium, easily procured on the sidewalk outside any methadone clinic. Junkies enjoy this combination because taxpayers are on the hook for half their fix plus any medical consequences. Just don't give them narcan. They hate that.

I saw her grandfather at Disneyland the day before he was shot and killed.

And you didn't tell him to wear a helmet?

Benzodiazepine drugs such as Valium and methadone don’t mix with alcohol

And how many times are people warned about grapefruit's interaction with certain drugs? Or have seen a sticker on a prescription container like the one pictured here...?

Google:

Just so we are all clear, the correction pronounciation of "Saoirse" is "Ser-sha" — it rhymes with "inertia." After the name flub, Ellen DeGeneres actually made Ronan a handy sign to wear at award shows so there would be no more confusion. Dec 6, 2017

Very sad. In every generation, a few succumb to the Kennedy Curse.

Was there ever any talk about John Kennedy Jr. taking any drugs. I have never heard of it.

From the article: “When grapefruit juice blocks the enzyme, it’s easier for the medication to pass from your gut to your bloodstream.”

Now it makes sense when I would read about Hunter S. Thompson ordering supplies for his parties. “Okay - I need two cases of Tequila, a trained monkey with a parrot and a crate of grapefruit.”

Yes, for his chronic back pain and Addison’s disease, but these were legitimate prescription pain-killers.

I was wondering about the son. I do not think that he had back pain like his father.

I currently work in an ER in southern NJ. About a week ago we had a woman come in, had to be under fifty , I couldn’t be sure because she was a meth head. Half a mouth full of teeth, stringy hair, a face that looked like she slept face-down in gravel parking lot with a screw driver half stuck in her head. I think if it weren’t for the meth she’d have been dead.

They had to bring her down off the meth and they then got her up to the OR. Don’t know if she made it but man she wouldn’t shut up. I don’t think she even felt the thing in her skull.
