Taylor Swift will be heading to the Middle Kingdom to kick off the biggest shopping event in the world next month.
The 29 year old singer has been confirmed to perform at Alibabas 11.11 Countdown Gala at Shanghai's Mercedes-Benz Arena on November 10, per Alizila.
Swift will be joined by a number of Chinese performers such as G.E.M., Hua Chenyu, Kana Hanazawa, Ju Jingyi, Li Ronghao, Luo Yunxi, Jackson Yee, Zhang Jie and Zhang Yixing.
The news of Swift's confirmation comes as the Chinese government has come under fire over the country banning South Park following an episode that was critical of Chinese policy and controversy over an NBA general manager tweeting support for China.
While Alibaba has confirmed Swift and the aforementioned Chinese stars, they add the full lineup will be released closer to the event, which coincides with the event on Single's Day on November 11 (11/11), created as an alternative to Valentine's Day.
The live show leads up to the biggest shopping day in the world, with over 500 million people expected to participate this year.
Last year, over 400 million people took part in Alibaba's 11.11, with a whopping $30.8 billion in gross merchandising volume over the 24-hour sale, eclipsing America's Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined ($24.2 billion).

hmm...
Wonder if the “Boo Hoo “ girl will be there?
Taylor Swift has to be one of the biggest sell outs in the entertainment business today. Gotta pay for all those extravagent mansions, including the one I see often in tony Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Very heavily guarded, btw.
Maybe she got Shanghaied?
How do people find her attractive? She looks like a stick figure drawn to life.
“China been very good to me...”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
She’s physically quite attractive. But her mind and soul are as rotten as can be. She needs to find Jesus. Maybe Kanye can help her.
Didn’t he take the mike away from her years ago?
She used Quasi Country to get on the map. Then, quickly transitioned to uber leftist liberalism.
A couple decades ago a girl group, the Dixie Chicks, did the same thing and they were excoriated and effectively disappeared from the scene. Never recovered. Times have certainly changed. And, not for the better.
Yup.
She’s a piece of azz but a total whore sellout.
Read all the comments here. They nail her about supporting the communists while criticizing America / Trump.
She’s attractive if you’ve been in federal prison for 20 years.
Wonder if Swift will have a social justice warrior moment on the revelation that the chinese govt. has— for more than a decade, maintained incarceration hospitals of dissident Uyghers, Christians and Falun Gong religious people. These were kept alive and then had all their organs harvested for marketing internationally and also to the elite chi-com leadership for replacement.
This was a subject on John Batchelor’s show. It is no longer a “rumour” it has been proven beyond any refutation, and was presented to the UN Council on Human Rights. It is a reason to totally SHUN China as a country. Horrific. Will be posting the article link. Naturally— the chinese US ex imp people are saying this is not true— they are wrong. The banks, and int’l businesses and the ali-babas of the world DO NOT CARE that 10s of thousands of people have been murdered for their organs. Hitler and Dr. Mengele reborn in chicom now fully Fascist China.
Not too far off.
(private joke)
Of the (present-day) celebs, who do you particularly find attractive ?
She’s the new “Dixie Chicks”, 2019 version.
Singles Day (1-1-1-1) in China is bigger than Black Friday and Cyber Monday combined, sez here.
[snip] Products from Japan, the U.S., South Korea, Australia, and Germany were the most popular among Chinese consumers, according to the company.
