I didnt know what a tick was until I moved here (KY)
HAHA! That reminds me of a story: I was telling a guy here in rural KY that I was from seattle. He said he went to Pike place market once and there was a park there and people were sitting right in the grass. He was shocked.
I told him that they can do that because they’re not in Kentucky.
BTW, I call Kentucky “The garden of eden, but with more chiggers”.
I don’t like ticks, but I HATE chiggers.
I go to Missouri, Oklahoma, and Arkansas twice a year to visit relatives. Some of them live in the country and I refuse to get off cement. Lol. In June I actually found my first tick on me. Freaked me out!
Here in California we dont get rain for about seven or eight months straight and without any water theres no bugs no ticks no mosquitoes no nothing
nothing in this world can survive without water
Well, there is was a reason old timers in the Ozarks did a spring burn off of grass and brush on their property, which was to reduce the number of ticks and chiggers.
This lists some lawn spray solutions none of which I have tried:

One suggestion was to eat garlic...Ticks do not like how you taste apparently! I have tried it for cooking, but not for ticks. (Let me know!)
