I’ve done it before to the teachers when my older sons had a teacher getting stupid in the classroom.
One eventually had a breakdown and had to be fired ;-)

I’ve done it before myself. My hook though was being the chair of the school board. It gets their attention when you request a private meeting. That said, letters get filed immediately (if you get my drift).
Request a meeting with the principal, dean of students, and teacher. Have talking points written down. Do not engage past your talking points. Stand firm and if they push back mention politely you feel they are infringing on your Civil Rights. If these things fail to get traction escalate to the board level and include the superintendent. Do it in person, not email or letter. That shows how determined you are.
I’ve also had multiple successes using this approach.
When they realize you’re serious, they fold like a deck of cards.
