The governor is the commander of the state's national guard. They can be nationalized through the governor.

Not sure if thats completely accurate or if you just need to clarify your wording. My understanding is that NG has two chains of command, but never both at the same time. They generally fall under the states governor, but if Federalized, they then fall under DoD.

If there is a flash point incident, are they going to follow the orders of the Governor or Washington DC? Under current conditions, I don’t think the stew is hot enough to support a flash point incident. I am merely pointing out the path that would evolve if the temperature were to continue rising and a flash point incident occurred. There is no denying that the temperature is rising. I am just praying that it does not come to a boil in my lifetime.
