Is so(or Not) Why?
~~~~~~~
Probably -- but, I'm going to spoil it: I'm going to do a deep study of the battle and surrounding events beforehand.
In particular, I'll study lots of maps, so I can create my own "mental movie" of all the ship and plane movements, ahead of time.
I just watched the docu on Midway-battles that changed the course of history. Done by a Brit and a pretty good job, although kinda an overview in ways.
Anyways, just to think, in 6 short months the USA came from being blindsided and losing all over the Pacific to sinking 4 carriers of the enemy, three of them in 5 minutes, and changing the power of the Pacific theater from Japan to the USA.
The Lord Almighty was with us in that one. A complete miracle with all the luck involved.
Dont tell anyone....but we win.
The special effects will definitely be upgraded. The action scenes will probably be as good as the Dunkirk movies were.
I don’t know, is Matt Damon or Ben Aflec in it? If either one of those guys are in it then it’s a NO.
I don’t buy either one of them in anything.
Pearl Harbor sucked.
Read(or Listen) to this:
before you go see the movie.
“The first movie Midway, made back in 1976, was ruined by a silly romantic subplot involving a young Navy pilot and a Japanese girl. So it will be interesting to see how Hollywood ruins the remake.”
They’ll replace any human interactions with over-the-top CGI.
How, precisely, do you know that -- without even having seen, "Midway"?
If it _were_ a traditional, cell-animated “cartoon” of the battle, I’d go see it just to see what they did and maybe how they did it!
Isnt casting Woody Harrelson as Admiral Nimitz tantamount to casting Pauly Shore as John D. Rockefeller?
I remember watching Tora Tora Tora with the family when I was in the first grade. My dad would read the subtitles when the Japs spoke and I was really into it. I could tell my dad was getting a kick out of reading the subtitles to me.
I think that older movie was “Tora, Tora, Tora,” not the 1976 version. Husband hates sappy movies unless a dog is involved.
I’m taking both of my boys.
At this point, I decide whether or not to see a movie based upon who is making money off of it.
No, because the trailers look like something as bad as that Pearl Harbor movie. Might see 1917 though.
No Coral Sea-class angle-deck carriers standing in for the Enterprise, Hornet, and Yorktown. :)
See ya at the movies, first time in years LOL
Any lefties involved in making it ala that Man on the moon movie where then banned the US flag? I definitely am interested but I want to make sure first it’s Treasoncrat free
I will probably watch THE PACIFIC instead. That is truly one of the best series on the war in the Pacific to never come out. Anyone here who has not seen this yet needs to do so before even thinking about this new movie.
