Hes confused me. Again.
Mr. President, that is. Oh, I know some of you like him, but he still confuses me.
Like this week, when he said, Were building a wall in Colorado. Were building a beautiful wall. A big one that you cant get over and you cant get under.
Now, Im wondering WHERE in Colorado?
Maybe hes thinking that New Mexico is part of old Mexico, so thats where the wall will be built.
Representative Diana DeGette added to the Presidents remarks And New Mexico will pay for the wall.
I know he came back later and said it was all a joke. Right. I wonder which staffer had to tell him that Colorado isnt on the Mexican border.
Anyway, there are places in our state that he could build a wall.
Hed like to build a wall around Boulder, so he could keep all those Darn Liberals locked up.
Or, we could put it along the Nebraska border to keep those Big Red Football Fans away from us.
Maybe a big wall around the Broncos stadium, to keep other teams from coming in and beating the Broncs, week after week.
We could use a wall around the mountains in the summer, just to cut down on the traffic from other states. Coloradans would each get a key to the walls gate, so we could visit our mountains without getting in a 50-mile line of cars from Kansas.
We could build the wall around Greeley. We had a wall here about 150 years ago, to keep cattle from coming into town and eating the gardens. It was seven feet tall and 50 miles long. We could build a wall there again to keep out something Im not sure what.
Anyway, that new wall would only cost us about $30 skillion.
Maybe if Greeley builds the wall, Evans will pay for it.
Anyway, Mr. Pres, there are a few ideas where you can build the wall in our state.
Or, maybe theres someplace else you can build it, besides on the Mexican border or in Colorado.
You could build the wall around the White House! Just to keep the White House folks inside, and they couldnt get out to travel around the country saying dumb stuff.
That would be much more soothing for all of us.
The name Gnarly Trombone was taken from an 1871 Cincinnati newspaper that misread Horace Greeleys handwritten name of the Greeley Tribune. Mike Peters is a retired Tribune staff writer. He may be emailed at mpeters26@comcast.net.
I wonder if he meant a wall around the Colorado (River). In any case, if Odingus can get away with “all 57 states,” Trump can certainly be forgiven a geographical gaffe.
I wish that we had built a wall before California invaded.
Any training centers for intercontinental railroad building?
What about Biden when he said . . . well pretty much anything he said.
What an a$$hole.
I wasted too many minutes reading this s^^t!
Thank you for that well reasoned comment.
Thanks, EWF not really my style, I’m more a 1950’s guy.
He really does, doesn't he (or she/it/them/their/etc., ad nauseum).
Wonder what ever happened to Peppermint Patty who ran for Pres from Boulder?
The President did not misspeak. If you heard this statement in context, which the news media had to have heard it, and not pull it out for the purpose of denigrating the President, youd grasp the concept the president was making. . . That building a wall on the border of our country essentially is building a wall that benefits ALL the states. Trump followed his statement that we are building a wall in Colorado with we are building a wall in Kansas. . . Etc. The point is that a wall on the border stops illegals in those states as well. These progressive journalists, and I use the word loosely, have no sense of humor or allegory. Trump does, and knows how to use both. The crowd he addresses his comments towards also got it. They heard it in context, not singled out as a stupid misspeaking error.
I know he did not misspeak. I think even a child can understand everything President Trump says, because he is a very clear speaker.
However, these journalists are acting like he did misspeak as a premise to mock and ridicule him. But at the same time, they act like they never said anything dumb themselves.
