As I understand it, the case is usually assigned to the justice in charge of the circuit.

Roberts has the 4th Circuit (wherein Maryland is)

They don't say but I did read it was in Southern Md..

Southern Maryland is composed of the counties on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay including Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties.
