As Carol Jenkins sees it, a nearly 100-year push to add the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is closer to reality now than its ever been.
Thats why theres a tremendous effort underway to elect supporters of the long-stalled gender equality measure in Virginias elections next month, says Jenkins, co-president and CEO of the nationwide ERA Coalition. Advocates hope if they can pick up a few seats from Republican opponents, the once solidly conservative Southern state thats voted down the ERA time and again might instead be the critical 38th to approve it.
Virginia voters have the future of girls and women in their hands, Jenkins says.
Initially proposed in Congress in 1923 and passed in 1972, the Equal Rights Amendment would ban discrimination on the basis of sex, explicitly enshrining equality for women in the U.S. Constitution. Thirty-seven states have ratified it; supporters say having 38 would meet the constitutional threshold for approval.
Theres a hitch: A 1982 ratification deadline set by Congress and other thorny questions are bound to hold up the efforts in court, many legal experts say.
ERA opponents criticize the measure as unnecessary, in part because of the 14th Amendment, which guarantees all U.S. citizens equal protection of the laws. They say the long-passed deadline means the ERA amendment isnt eligible for ratification now, something proponents say Congress could resolve.

RINOs do exactly the same thing as their Democratic Uniparty counterparts. What do you think was happening in Congress between January 2017 and January of this year, in terms of Trump’s agenda being stymied, when the GOP held majorities in both the House and Senate?
Then it's time for men to take those billions a year they have to spend on prostitution, and spend it on fighting for those rights.
As every other group that has faced discrimination has done.
Actually women are 53-55% of enrollees, 67% of debt according to a women’s group.
Carter extended the damn thing three extra years. It had a ten year ratification period.
The problem is the seven-year time limit is a part of the text of the ERA. When it failed to pass in seven years, Congress chose to amend the Amendment itself to make the limit 10 years. I have no idea if this change passed Congress by 2/3rds majority in both houses (and I’m too lazy to look it up). In any case the Amendment didn’t pass even with the 3-year extension.
If it is ok to ignore the actual text of the amendment that some people wish wasn’t there, but in fact is there, then the precedent has been set to ignore other parts of the amendment as well.
Do you really believe divorce is not an option should any man attempt such ??
What is the point of this question?
Ever faced a woman in court ???
???
When men are judging cases between men and women, they seem more interested in shafting the men to score points with whomever they want to stick it into, than in delivering justice.
Never faced a woman in court actually but have witnessed and read of many a man that has faced off with a woman in court. The makeup of the court is a factor but its like driving down the road for a guy, most of the time, and the lightening bolt and wild animals are busy tearing at the vehicle to get at the male. Strange that women want to be equal to the guy in the car in a court of law
So what are men going to do about it?
Soros is pouring money into Virginia races, especially local DA’s, judges.
If am wrong you have my apology but l believe you to be female
Pass the amendment I want to be equal to women
The left will declare it “passed” if another state “ratifies” and leftist judges will act as if it is a duly ratified amendment to the Constitution. And we really don’t know what the USSC will say. We can assume that Roberts will vote for it and maybe Kavanaugh, too.
But if men are going to continue to sell out at the alter of the camel toe, then what's going to change even if they do pass the ERA?
"Theres a hitch: A 1982 ratification deadline set by Congress and other thorny questions are bound to hold up the efforts in court, many legal experts say."
The fact that the EPA is long past its deadline for ratification doesnt mean anything to lawless, desperate Democrats.
Since PDJT is covering our backs, patriots need to contact their state lawmakers and demand that they officially kill their states support for the long expired ERA.
We dont want the EPA to be a loose cannon for the 2020 elections.
Remember in November 2020!
MAGA! Now KAG! (Keep America Great!)
The deadliest of the three Progressive Amendments, the 16th, 17th, and 19th is the 19th. It made inevitable all the Equal Rights crap we are going through and the ultimate feminization of America which has largely happened already and is irreversible short of a new Revolution. The Feminine countries of the world which comprise almost all of Western Civilization must eventually succumb to the remaining Masculine cultures, China and Islam. One or several such as Donald Trump can cause the consequences to be delayed but cannot stop them.
