Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker's final trailer suggests that C-3PO will die in the final installment of the Skywalker saga. One of the original characters to appear in George Lucas' original Star Wars trilogy, C-3PO is an iconic staple of the franchise's lore - both in canon and in Legends. Anthony Daniels has portrayed the character in each movie and across multiple mediums for over four decades, and his time as the character is coming to an end in J.J. Abrams' newest film.

China will save the galaxy, all praise Chairman Mao.
In my own defense...in case I've missed something...since Return of The Jedi, I haven't paid much attention to the details of that universe and its canon.
Live long, and prosper.
Jar Jar is a Sith lord.
Like Asimov’s “Mule”, Jar Jar is actually running everything.
Now there would be an interesting set of movies.
The Foundation Trilogy
If done right,
which wouldn’t happen!
Gosh, that’s a useful chart. Thanks for your post.
For me it doesn’t get any better than watching the Star Wars Christmas special.
It takes a sense of humor to write C3PO, and it takes morality to have a sense of humor. Hollywood lost both a while ago.
Should have used Energizer(R) batteries.
Hasnt Hamill said hes in the movie.
As in, not CGI. So he overcomes death.
The Rise of Skywalker
And they go back to the grey balance or whatever.
Ditto this for my 2 sons and I. I raised them watching Star Wars/Star Trek/etc. and they loved it. We all walked out laughing at how terrible the last movie was.
Recently, my youngest was visiting me, saw a commercial for this, and remarked, “Do you know how bad this is going to be?”
The Windows 10 update failed?
Where does the Ewok’s Christmas Special fit in?
The landfill?

Yeah, my family and I are in agreement --- no more Star Wars. We are so not interested in seeing this next movie. When the first re-do came out, my son-in-law pointed out that it was exactly like the very first SW's movie, except, instead of Luke, you have a girl in that role. We thought about that briefly, and decided he was right.
I am so tired of these Hollywood types just plugging in some female into a role that was made iconic by the male actor; and, thinking we were just going to get all woke and happy about it.
Instead of remaking classics with a girl replacing the boy, why not try to, I dunno, come up with something new.
It can be done as Rogue One proved. I liked that movie.
Absolutely. And it was, in the very first Star Wars movie. Luke repaired R2D2.
Excuse me?
The Emperor is coming back. If everything jolds, this could be the best since Jedi, and knock the stink of the last jedi out of our mouths.
