Defense contractor Northrop Grumman has begun moving secret cargo through a Southern California marina this weekend.

The large object will be taken from a Northrop Grumman facility in Redondo Beach to a barge for shipment to San Diego.

Northrop Grumman officials cited national security concerns in declining to provide information about the object.

The company agreed on Oct. 15 to pay the city $25,000 for a licensing agreement to use the marina and for any costs the city incurs.

Judging by the color it is probably Navy vessel deck mounted.

Yes, a laser. And so obviously so that they clearly wanted “others” to know exactly what it was.

Funny I bought 3000 Notel phones from TRW. They arranged everything. Never saw them. Delivered to my buyer in Phoenix. They take security seriously unlike Hillary.

I spent 30 years in intelligence. You can have all the non air breathers you can ask for......but if you don't know where to look and what to look for, it's meaningless. KTLA had no problem telling them where to look, and to further advise them to monitor leasing arrangements of major defense contractors.

There was NO public good for reporting this.

I’m guessing it’s a T-shirt cannon. When Trump wins all 57 states in 2020, everyone in the U.S. gets a MAGA/KAG shirt, instantly!

Mysterious Object Northrop Is Barging From Redondo Beach Is A High-Power Naval Laser
The system being moved represents a big leap in ship-based directed energy capabilities and is slated to be tested aboard USS Portland.
By Tyler Rogoway October 18, 2019

Excerpts: "It is a high-energy laser system that we can say with near certainty is part of the Solid-State Laser Technology Maturation (SSL-TM) program that Northrop Grumman won the contract for in 2015."

"However, SSL-TM aims to be significantly more powerful. Where the AN/SEQ-3 had a 30-kilowatt power rating, the new system will be in the 150-kilowatt class.

Did you make the requisite air-quotes around the word: “laser”? :P

One of those new voting machines that uses a combination of DNA, facial recognition, blood type, voice recognition, English language proficiency, invasive cavity search, and a 3-decade-deep background check to validate CA voters??

“We are secure only as we are able to keep secrets regarding our national security.”

Do you realize that H1B Indians can eventually get dual American citizenship and work on those classified projects and that thousands do?? Dual citizenships. No allegiance to America. They most likely were illegal aliens at some point by overstaying their H1B visas. Citizenship, which allows them top secret clearances. Northrop, especially, is loaded with them.

We are only as secure as the people creating the secured environments, and having people with zero loyalty to a nation is not secure at all.

I work in intelligence, and I see everyday the leaks foreigners commit every day back to their home nations; Indians, Chinese, Russians, et al. This nation cares more about “diversity” than security.

“So KTLA, to what public good is it to reveal national security secrets to our enemies in such fashion where they need not employ their own intelligence services to discover our intents?”

Loose lips sink ships, right. I think they know what they’re doing.
