I have asked now and then. Never had them yet, but I don’t always go where there is a meat market. The best meat market in town closed years ago.

Continued daily death to invasives. Century-old oak, 20-feet from road. Cut the bittersweet vines that are killing it. Nobody checked on it in decades. Hope the town doesn’t mind.

I planted 3 rows of German Red Garlic totaling 36 feet and 150 sets this afternoon and hope to plant the same amount of Chinese Early Red Garlic tomorrow. The weather is generally perfect here on the far north coast this time of year as it is this week. Next I will mulch this with rice hulls to keep the weeds down and maintain some moisture...

One of these days I’ll get some garlic in the ground.
Mine will be a lot less and mulched with straw.

For row markers I cutup old venetian blinds in 6 or 7 inch lengths and write on them with pencil or felt writers...

This is a delectable North Carolina recipe---a place that grows
lots of sweet potatoes---nice w/ BBQ, and a green garden salad.
CHEF NOTE: Cook a second sweet; cut it up and add to soup.
Jalapeno Sweet Potato Chowder

METHOD Sauté/soften diced onion in 2 tb butter. Add lge puréed baked
sweet potato, qt veg stock. BTB; reduce slightly. Now add 1 1/2 c corn
kernels, tsp minced jalapenos, 1/2 cup h/cream, tsp salt. Simmer 10 min.
Serve w/ homemade bread.

Nice, I still have that photo you posted more than a few years ago now of your garlic drying on a chain link fence. It’s a beautiful thing.
