Royal Caribbean Bans Woman For Life After She Tried to Take Dangerous Selfie on... Ship’s Railing

The ship’s crew later tracked down the woman and removed her when the ship docked in Falmouth, Jamaica, Blosic said.

A Royal Caribbean spokesperson confirmed the incident, telling CNN in a statement:

“Earlier this week on the Allure of the Seas a guest was observed recklessly and dangerously posing for a photo by standing on her stateroom balcony railing with the help of her companion. Security was notified and the guests were later debarked in Falmouth, Jamaica as a result of their actions and are now banned for life from sailing with Royal Caribbean.”

On its website, Royal Caribbean explains that “sitting, standing, laying or climbing on, over or across any exterior or interior railings or other protective barriers” is not permitted, for guests’ own safety.

It’s worse that exfoliated, but not as bad as defenestration.

Yeah, getting tossed out of upper floor windows can be a bummer.

I can’t think of a worse place to be forced off the ship. Last time I was there, 7ish years ago, you took your life in your hands going outside the gates of the port.

There were police with machine guns at the gates to control the crowds of locals. They would discourage you from leaving the grounds. AND if you did go outside the port, they would dispatch escorts.

It was a sh-hole. I call it foulmouth.

My mom was on a cruse when flu or something broke out. Guests were confined to their cabins. One group took the attitude that “we paid for this trip, we’re going to enjoy it!” They were put off the ship at the next port of call, to make their way home as best they could at their own expense.

People forget that a ship’s captain has power similar to a judge in a courtroom. You have to do what he says.

Jamaica used to have a murder rate lower than the United States. In 1962 Jamaica had a murder rate of 3.9 per 100,000 population. In 1962, the U.S. murder rate was about 4.6 per 100,000 population.

In 1967, Jamaica passed a draconian firearms act, shortly after independence form British rule.

By 2012, the U.S. murder rate was 4.5 per 100,000. The U.S. had increased gun controls, then repealed some of them.

By 2012, the Jamaica murder rate was 45.1 per 100,000, ten times higher than the U.S. murder rate and eleven times higher than it had been under British rule.

Dreadlock Holiday - 10CC

I was walkin’ down the street
Concentratin’ on truckin’ right
I heard a dark voice beside of me
And I looked round in a state of fright
I saw four faces one mad
A brother from the gutter
They looked me up and down a bit
And turned to each other

I say
I don’t like cricket oh no
I love it
I don’t like cricket oh no
I love it
Don’t you walk thru my words
You got to show some respect
Don’t you walk thru my words
‘Cause you ain’t heard me out yet

Well he looked down at my silver chain
He said I’ll give you one dollar
I said you’ve got to be jokin’ man
It was a present from me Mother
He said I like it I want it
I’ll take it off your hands
And you’ll be sorry you crossed me
You’d better understand that you’re alone
A long way from home

And I say
I don’t like reggae no no
I love it
I don’t like reggae oh no
I love it
Don’t you cramp me style
Don’t you queer on me pitch
Don’t you walk thru my words
‘Cause you ain’t heard me out yet

I hurried back to the swimming pool
Sinkin’ pina coladas
I heard a dark voice beside me say
Would you like something harder
She said I’ve got it you want it
My harvest is the best
And if you try it you’ll like it
And wallow in a Dreadlock Holiday

And I say
Don’t like Jamaica oh no
I love her
Don’t like Jamaica oh no
I love her oh yea
Don’t you walk thru her words
You got to show some respect
Don’t you walk thru her words
‘Cause you ain’t heard her out yet

I don’t like cricket
I love it (Dreadlock Holiday)
I don’t like reggae
I love it (Dreadlock Holiday)
Don’t like Jamaica
I love her (Dreadlock Holiday)

I hurried back to the swimming pool

I wonder if there is a blacklist among cruise lines.

My Jamaican home health aide/housekeeper says Royal Caribbean is the best of the non-luxury brands. Anyone been on one?

Falls off into the ocean, gets sucked under the ship and thru the propellers. Instant fish food.

Who hasn’t be banned for life by RCCL? The CEO sets the culture. They review cruise websites and Youtube and will ban people who criticize RCCL too much.

I stick with Carnival. I can get a cup of coffee and a snack at 5am, 2 hours before the buffet opens. It’s all “good morning sir” and working around me. RCCL blocks off their dining rooms with blue tape and Stay Out looks cut by the crew. You cruise by their rules. Not relaxing at all. I’m not paying $4G to accommodate the crew’s preferences and schedule.

I know that cruise line. And they PAY YOU to cruise on their ships. It’s called The Navy.

I was a journalist who wrote about cruises for 15 years (for FoxNews.com, actually). The cruise lines do not share a blacklist publicly, but there is a good chance that if she got on a carnival ship they would keep three eyes on her at all times.

I remember when no one was ever banned from a cruise line, now it happens all the time. Too many amateur cruisers out there these days. Cruising is not what it used to be.
