I agree.
They turned down meeting with the woman when she was right there in the next room, demanding to only meet her in the U.K.? Whoa. Right there that tells me they just want HER blood, her money, or both; to avenge for losing their son. Or maybe they see is as their ticket to fame. Who knows.
This was just a very sad accident. I previously had sympathy for them, but now they come across as annoying irritants positioning for some kind of payoff.
And what is wrong with them wanting her to answer for killing their son?
This was just a very sad accident.
Was it an accident? Or was it negligence which resulted in the death of the motorcyclist?
I can understand their point of view. Trump admitted he would do the same in their position. It was a bit off to try and present them with a fair accompli by having the suspect next door. If she was genuinely sorry though, she would return to face the music. If she doesn’t, it proves that she only cares about saving her own ass and her apology is hollow. Worst case scenario is she gets six month and serves half. It isn’t like she would be burned to death in public.
Listen, I’ve driven thousands of miles in the UK and South Africa - I’m born and raised in the USA and learned to drive here.
I agree with defending diplomatic immunity, because if you don’t defend it in the UK you won’t be able to defend it in shitholes.
But this was far from a “sad accident”. There is no excuse whatsoever for driving on the wrong side of the road and killing someone.
