I can understand their point of view. Trump admitted he would do the same in their position. It was a bit off to try and present them with a fair accompli by having the suspect next door. If she was genuinely sorry though, she would return to face the music. If she doesn’t, it proves that she only cares about saving her own ass and her apology is hollow. Worst case scenario is she gets six month and serves half. It isn’t like she would be burned to death in public.
I disagree. She can be truly sorry for the sad accident, but not naive enough to place herself at the hands of the U.K. government.
There is no legitimate “music to face” because it was a sad accident. She is not legally or morally bound to accommodate the views of others. Not wanting to do pointless jail time is an appropriate response from a remorseful but intelligent person.
The more these parents push, the more they disgust me.
