Denied visa entry, 16 k cash, had to practically go 4 wheeling to accidentally enter the US. Sure, we believe them. Lol.

Canada didn’t want them, the U.K. isn’t responding. They had to put them somewhere. Crazy to hear them bitch “we didn’t have clothes.... because they were washing our clothes for us”. Wow.

An animal caused this ..pfft

“ they were spotted via video surveillance “slowly and deliberately driving through a ditch onto Boundary Road in Lynden, Washington” between parallel roadways on the U.S. and Canadian sides. The roads are not connected by cross streets, and the only legal way to traverse between the countries is at staffed border stations throughout the region.

In a statement, CBP said U.S. agents also determined that two of the family members had applied for travel authorization to visit the United States and were denied. A senior CBP official said the Connorses applied for visa waivers last year, and it was not immediately clear why they were rejected. The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe the case, said the family — four adults and three small children — were in possession of $16,000 in cash at the time of their arrest.

“Attempts were made to return the individuals to Canada, however, Canada refused to allow their return and two attempts to contact the United Kingdom consulate were unsuccessful,” the CBP statement read. Because Canada refused to admit the family, CBP was required by law to turn the family members over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“I don’t believe that it’s suitable for children that young...probably shouldn’t be around a hundred other kids all of whom are coming from different parts of the world,”

You mean like classrooms all across our country now?

This story reeks of new world order ideology.

“Originally from the United Kingdom...”

‘Originally’ implies that they were residing somewhere else (outside of the UK) at the time of their incursion.

Tourist travel to the U.S. for U.K. citizen normally doesn’t require a visa so something is amiss with this also. It appears that they were turned away from the U.S. for something before and now they’re “accidentally” crossing the border. I agree with those that say there’s more to the story than what we’re being told.

Nothing really makes sense.

Because you're only getting information from one side, a side with something to hide.

Piss poor reporting in this story. The author appears to take everything the Conners say face value, and doesn’t ask why they had $16,000 cash or why Canada wouldn’t let them back in

When you do a search on her name it seems like thousands of different publications picked up on it - all regurgitated. Nothing changes much except the headlines. This one has one of the most holocaust like conditions I found.

Brits, complaining about the cold and the food in America. I’ve heard it all now.

They would have violated Canadian law as well; a dollar to a donyt, they didn’t declare to Canadian authorities when they entered Canada from the UK that they had more than CAD10,000 on them ($10k US equals $13.1k CAD).

302 E Boundary Rd
Lynden, Washington

Enter the above into Google maps, click the streetview image, and see what a bizarre international border looks like (it literally is just a shallow ditch.) Kinda curious what type of car they were using (and did the Canadian family get repatriated with their car? Still not sure about that either...)

$16000 in cash, they previously applied and were refused visas, drove across a ditch...

Doesn’t pass the smell test.

Hopefully this story will be a lesson for all other foreign “families on vacation who were refused visas and get lost near the border and “accidentally” cross it...with a hoard of cash.

Was one of them Ogie Oglethorpe?

Could be lots worse for them.

Could have been U.S. citizens accidentally crossing the border into Mexico with a firearm, or even one single round of ammo lost in a corner of the trunk.

If they’re legitimately tourists, you stop them, inform them that they crossed the border, and escort them back to Canada.

Simply honking the horn, even at a large bear, would get it to move along.

Don't try that with a bull moose.

A few years ago a train engineer blew his horns at a moose in Crawford Notch, NH.

The moose put its' head down and charged the train.

A bull moose could easily destroy a car.

The article at the link and the article as posted above are not the same. Among other things, I could not find the following in the article at the link though it is in the article posted above:

A senior CBP official said the Connorses applied for visa waivers last year, and it was not immediately clear why they were rejected.
