Blame the busybody neighbor who called the insta-shooters aka cops.
Perhaps the cop played too many video games and could not separate the games from his real life.

I dont blame him. I actually feel sorry for him. He was concerned about his neighbor, a noble thing. He couldnt have known that the cops would show up shooting.
Side story: Many years ago, I went over to deliver some tomatoes to an older neighbor. Well, her front door was wide open. That was very unusual. I rang the front door bell. No response. I yelled her name. No response. Then she finally appeared. She was in her basement.
That happened around noon. If it was after dark, I would have called the ambulance folks (a cop would have responded too). What other choice was there?
Don’t blame the neighbor, who called the police for a welfare check.
The police is the one who gets the blame for shooting without checking.
He was not a busybody but a good citizen who probably had the old and now outdated idea that police are responsible public servants.
Blame the busybody neighbor...
You can if you want to. Im gonna blame the ***hole who pulled the trigger.

No, this time I would blame the frightened idiot that should never have been given a badge and a gun, oh and the moron that passed them on the psych exam. To bad it was recognized before someone died that they were not suitable for police work.
“Blame the busybody neighbor who called the insta-shooters aka cops.”
Look, I’m going to blame them, not the neighbor. Can you imagine how bad that guy feels? Why the heck should he have to feel this way.
Sure, sure, maybe he should have just rung the bell himself, but you know I don’t know that. He was concerned, he called a NON EMERGENCY number for the police, I can’t fault his actions.
What the heck the cop was thinking or doing is beyond me.
