I don’t blame him. I actually feel sorry for him. He was concerned about his neighbor, a noble thing. He couldn’t have known that the cops would show up shooting.

Side story: Many years ago, I went over to deliver some tomatoes to an older neighbor. Well, her front door was wide open. That was very unusual. I rang the front door bell. No response. I yelled her name. No response. Then she finally appeared. She was in her basement.

That happened around noon. If it was after dark, I would have called the ambulance folks (a cop would have responded too). What other choice was there?

After dark does add an evil twist to the scenario in this insane world.

I’ve gone out of my way to meet all of my immediate neighbors and give them my cell in case they need me or I need them. Stupid & naive tactic? IDK....

I don’t live in the hood either though.
