I watched the whole brief video. All I can say is that I covered a lot of public meetings in my 25 years as a reporter, and this woman’s conduct was probably the most abusive I have witnessed.
Huge question: What were the officials discussing in the first place?
Certainly this Buchanan woman appears deranged, a particularly odious example of hateful Leftism.
But I want to know what set her off.
I suspect it may have been something we conservatives would regard as petty in the extreme. But that’s just speculation based upon what we know about the evil nature of Leftism.
Facts please. Always must have facts.
She would have gotten an earful from me.
Act like a lady, I’ll treat you like a lady. Act like a *unt, you get treated like one. And called one as well.
He should have put her in her place immediately.
Here is a little longer version of the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_iN8AGDp_A
I don’t know if this helps, but it’s all I could find.
I read another account and they apparently were discussing oppressed people and she said she was tired of hearing two white men talking about it because they know no more about being oppressed than they know about menstruating. She even dismissed the mayor, a Palestinian immigrant who, as such, would normally be counted among the oppressed, because his “skin is light enough.”
Susan Buchanan, an Oak Park village trustee, says she has received threats to her and her family's safety following comments she made at an Oct. 7 board meeting attempting to silence white male trustees during a discussion regarding updates to the village's diversity statement.
The people of Oak Park choose this community, not just as a place to live, but as a way of life and as a place to seek shelter, refuge and acceptance. Oak Park commits itself to equity, diversity, and inclusion because these values make us a desirable and strong community for all people. Creating a mutually respectful, multicultural and equitable environment does not happen on its own; it must be intentional.
We believe in equity. By embracing equity, with an explicit but not exclusive focus on racial equity, we work to break down systems of oppression, including racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia and other forms of bias and hate to achieve a society where race no longer determines ones outcomes, where everyone has what they need to thrive. This is both a process and a goal. We reject racial barriers that limit and divide us, and we reject bias towards any group of people... ...etc
