Moore was nominated for a position with the Trump Administration. I don’t recall which one. The Dems started talking about how unqualified and compromised he was. Trump seemed to quickly give into pressure from the Dems and RINOs to withdraw is support for Steve. Mere days/weeks after the nomination, Steve Moore was convinced to withdraw his name from consideration.

Steve may still be steamed about that.
I probably would be too. It could be that there were not enough republicans to support him getting that position.
But most would expect the president to lobby hard for his nominees. It is still a high honor.

I think enough RINO senators said they wouldn't vote to confirm.

Moore is a petulant whiner here. I think he’s a pretty smart guy but in 2016 he made a career choice that he’s now regretting. He made the decision to join Trump’s campaign as an advisor, which meant he was no longer an “objective economist” anymore. Instead, he was doing a job that was much more political in nature.

That would have been fine, if it pretty much disqualified him from serving on the Federal Reserve board because in his role on the Trump team he had taken positions on some economic issues that were too easily debunked.

He was no more suited for a seat on the Federal Reserve board then Andrew Napolitano was for a seat on the U.S. Supreme Court.
