Hmmm, two questions:
1) Not that these folks weren't denied admission to Harvard because they were Jewish, but how did they know? Did the school reply saying, "sorry, no Jews allowed?"
2) Why would they apply to Harvard in the first place?

It is well known that Harvard historically discriminated against Jews. They didnt totally deny them but kept admissions numbers small. It was an open secret before WW II . Dont know when it opened up, but with the current wave of Jew hatred on university campuses, the antiSemitic bigotry may well be reviving.
