It is puzzling. Maybe the common “dog” in the fight is the goal of destroying the American nuclear family. Killing babies and not procreating both help the cause.
Because both abortions and same gender sexual activity never result in life, only death. Also, the pro-abortion and pro-same gender sex crowd are ideological allies in divorcing the sexual act from its life giving purpose.
There’s actually an organization, PLAGAL (Pro Life Association of Gays and Lesbians) trying to convert LGBT to oppose abortion. Gotta admire their decision to swim against the current.We

I think you are on the right track, but i think the problem is deeper than that. i think the common thread is a disdain (for lack of a better word) for life on a spiritual level. Destroying the family unit is also just a symptom of this.
