Key witness in trial of killer cop Amber Guyger shot to death
A key witness who testified for the prosecution in the trial of killer Texas cop Amber Guyger was shot to death in an ambush outside his apartment, according to a report on Saturday.
Witness Joshua Brown, a neighbor of Guygers victim Botham Jean, was found on the ground, his body riddled with bullets, Friday around 10:30 p.m. outside his building in a Dallas neighborhood, The Dallas Morning News reported.
He was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he died from his injuries. There was no suspect information available.

Just watched it now. You’re right, bgill, that the red mat stands out.
Maybe she was too busy looking at her cell phone and thinking about her married lover.
Why dont you read about the man Amber Guyger killed before floating that he was a pot dealer
He was a St Lucian which frankly is quite a different type black person usually versus an urban American black
He was a public Christian and gave his testimony to others of Christ frequently and preached
Maybe he was smoking some pot in his apartment eating ice cream or maybe not because how often do we hear cops say something like that to try to excuse when they screw up
blame it on drugs and shift blame to victim
She sounds more like the one intoxicated
And in typical girl fashion panicked and killed him...research female gun accidents and bad shoots in law enforcement ..nobody wants to touch that
I think bgill said she was seen talking on her phone in the hallway instead of doing CPR.....I think its been testified she was speaking with her superior or police advocate in her union
The marijuana found in his apartment was about a quarter bag....not exactly a dealer and would be worth maybe 40-100 bucks depending on quality
The door youre alleging was open was not open...it was unlocked because as stated in court it was difficult to lock
Now this prosecution witness being murdered....I doubt Dallas PD killed him. It actually does sound like a criminal org killing which could involve a myriad of illegal activities
That apartment complex is trouble prone due to the usual demographics
Wonder if Amber liked her BBQ with the bark on it....odd place for a little blonde cop
Its a pioneer location which hasnt quite made it
I NEVER understood why the victim’s door was open, and not shut & locked.
In high density living, decent people don’t live with their doors open.
The density where I live—rural—still don’t do such. We might not be locked, but we don’t leave the door open.....
she committed murder.”””
I always thought Murder had to be “Pre-Meditated”.
Never thought such was the case here.
Ok, this could be a random coincidence but... If not, you have to ask, who benefits? Or maybe who might have something against the witness?
As to who benefits, well that could be either those on the side of the prosecution or the defense. Consider, if the prosecution had coached or made some kind of deal with the witness, they might not want that coming to light. OTOH, the defense might be planning an appeal and not want to face that testimony again in court. Sure, prior testimony would probably be admissible, but would lack the punch of a real person and the defense could also go against it in ways that cannot be refuted. Of course, to buy into either of those theories you have to have a healthy mistrust of a whole lot of people who are supposed to be trustworthy...
As to who might hold a grudge? Could be someone doesn't like the idea of LE going to jail... Could be some completely 3rd party here who was engaged in something else with the deceased witness, who didn't like the idea of him getting too buddy-buddy with police and talking.
Some other aspects of this are interesting. Shot in the mouth and "riddled" with bullets sounds odd. The mouth shot would certainly seem to be sending a message - don't talk or we take away your ability to talk. That could just be coincidence though, a byproduct of being "riddled" with bullets. That facet is much more interesting. That speaks to an amateur rather than "professional" hit.
A pro would use an appropriate caliber and fire once (head) or maybe twice (chest/head). One or two shots tends to be disregarded as possibly fireworks. A whole bunch of shots (ie. "riddled") can't really be mistaken for anything but a lot of gunfire - and that draws attention, something a pro would be trying to avoid. Lots of shots shows emotion, anger, fear, hatred. It also shows a lack of appreciation of just how much (or how little) it takes to kill someone. Of course the flip side is, if you're a pro and you've been instructed to make it look like something other than a pro hit...
Does it make sense that cops are sending a message that they are totally above the law, right after a cop was put in the slammer for murder???
I didn’t say anything as in off the cuff. I posted a link. The link said the neighbor saw her talking on her phone. It is known she had called her married bf aka as her cop partner.
i'd like to see side by side pics looking through the front door of HER apt and his, ten bucks says they look very different
Your comment about a 3rd party sounds right on the mark. This murder seems too much of a coincidence to be random. He broke down crying on the stand. Maybe he knew he was putting his life on the line by testifying? That doesn’t necessarily mean that he himself was involved in any shady dealings, but he might’ve known people who were. So sad...
She was in his house uninvited, which is a crime, and satisfies murder charges in many instances. Same thing if a burglar enters a house then shoots the homeowner. Even if the killing wasn’t premeditated, he’s usually charged with murder even if it was a reaction, not a premeditated act.
In any case, had she been charged with manslaughter, she probably wouldn’t have gotten a more lenient sentence than the one she received.
It turns out, this young man was shot last year, too:

Doormat outside the victim’s apartment was bright red.
