Years ago someone said something like “if Tim McVeigh had parked his truck in front of the NY Times building he would have been considered a hero”.

“If freedom of speech is taken away, then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.”
-George Washington

We do not have journalists pursuing truth wherever it leads, informing the public, and sounding the alarm when necessary.

(This is the free press our founding fathers prescribed, which is supposed to act as a another check on government power.)

But instead, what we have, is the Goebbels Mushroom(Keep 'em in the dark. Feed'em bullsh*t.)Media. And because there is no press, corrupt government has been running rampant, and trampling over the rights and freedom of our citizens.

A true press (as the founders called for), informing the public, is the first step toward healing our nation.

Censorship, (as NYT calls for), only increases anger, and causes further division.

Not to mention it raises suspicion that those trying to silence differing opinions, have something to hide .

That does nothing to promote healing.

People need to be free to express whatever they want, and work things out among themselves.

How can we find common ground if some are being silenced?

Our founders were geniuses to understand the importance of free speech. Too bad the NYT doesn't.

This is a reversion to tribal morality, that anything that violates social norms is a literal threat to the community.

This is the moral reasoning Islam uses to equate blasphemy and open dissent of Shariah mandates with attempted murder of all believers .... and justifies executing them to protect society.

You hear the same emotional foundation when someone says “you’re invalidating our existence” or even “you’re killing us” when you challenge social orthodoxy. They equate the emotional upset with attempted murder - and that would allow them to kill you in self-defense or for their tribe’s protection.

It shows how liberals have raised political dogma to a literal matter of faith. And it lays the foundation for death to the infidel.

I would encourage everyone to read the book Revolutionary Dissent by Solomon.

I just finished it. The book lays out exactly how free speech came to be in this country in the Colonial and Rev War eras.
