1) Q’s 17th AMENDMENT

17th Amendment details rules for appointing temporary Senators that RESIGNED or were EXPELLED. This will MATTER in the future.

35 States are appointed by State Legislature. 10 by Governors. 5 by rules. 6 require appointee to be from same political party.

2) REPUBLICANS CONTROL MAJORITY OF STATES

Obama harmed the Dems at the State Level more than anywhere else. Republicans now control 60%+ of State Legislatures and 55% of Governors. These States will appoint the new Senators until special elections are held. Dems are doomed.
