NBC's "Saturday Night Live" show experienced a drop in viewership for its opening episode in its 45th season, particularly among younger audiences that advertisers covet most.
The premiere, which included a return of Alec Baldwin as President Trump and surprise celebrity appearances by "SNL" favorites Maya Rudolph and Larry David to complement host Woody Harrelson, saw a 30 percent drop in the key 18-49 year-old demographic when compared to 2018's season opener, according to Nielsen.
The 90-minute program also saw a 15 percent decrease in overall viewers when compared to last year.
What a joke that’s become...it’s not even worth the time to DVR.
They alienate half their audience by making insulting anti-conservative/Trump insults, thinking that is funny, and then wonder why their ratings are failing?
Get a clue SNL managers;
-The original SNL crew was only mildly liberal, and made comedy that everyone could laugh at. So when half the audience is telling you to F-Off, you might start listening, unless you want the show to just fade away, as it is. And at this point, I hope it does.
Get SNL off TV! Bring back the old FANTASTIC THEATER with all their old si-fi movies form the past!
I’m still burned that SNL took over for my Saturday Night horror si-fi movies back in 1975.
Hard to ignore something that significant, but they will.
Yep, total overload and making him a popular martyr.
Yep, total overload and making him a popular martyr.
Yes, that was funny
Thanks for posting :)
There is nothing on late night worth my time!!!
'Sure'.
Glad you like it.
SNL has always done politics, but it was more even-handed.
I always think of the “Master Brain” skit with the late Phil Hartman, as Reagan, that was a classic. Or Dana Carvey’s George Bush.
Maybe you should not go after the key 18-49 demographic with a show that premiered in 1975.
Haven’t watched SNL in at least 20 years. Haven’t missed it.
I don’t even remember watching more than a few minutes of SNL since it first came on TV.
