Ok, so that’s where he was going. But why was the tailgate down and what was that panel? One doesn’t normally cruise around with the tailgate down. The only time I’ve ever seen it down in flight was to put something out (like paratroopers, for instance).
I’m not saying there couldn’t be other reasons for it to be open, but I’m curious what that reason might be.
And why would Barr be sitting where he is? So close? Not a very secure spot for someone to be sitting there without a parachute on.

I believe it was a C-130 cargo plane, and that is how passengers have to sit. He’s fully strapped in so he’s in no danger of flying out the back, but I did wonder how they managed without oxygen because it looks like they were flying quite high. The thing on the back looks like a secondary ramp for personnel.
