"I'm thinking about my neighborhood because in a few weeks, Barack and I will be joining changemakers from the South Side and around the world for our third Obama Foundation Summit," she said.
The Obama Foundation Summit takes place on October 28 and 29 and is expected to include "stories from authors and artists, luminaries and leaders, about how the places they've been made them the people they've become." (snip)
The former first lady then asks Obama Foundation supporters to "show us a place that shaped you" and "tell us how that place gives you purpose," providing a link to a form that supporters can fill out.
Submissions are expected to be featured at the Summit, as well as on Obama.org, Obama said, "so that guests can witness the stories of folks like you who help support the Obama Foundation and make our work possible."

Their neighborhood makes me cross the street when I see them coming. Check my wallet in the pocket and click the door locks in the car. Their neighborhood hates me, and calls me a slaver.

Both of them came from.safe neighborhoods. He in particular was raised in considerable comfort. A red diaper baby.
I grew up with two black friends, but with their parents being Black Panthers they became racists and no longer speak to me because I am white.

I’m sure Barack remembers the white, country club neighbourhood in Honolulu that he grew up in with his mother and her parents, lol. Bet they told his teachers that doing homework or even showing up at school was probably that good bit below him and his supposed intellectual level.
That’s not the neighborhood they subscribe to. The all pine for the wisdom of urban yutes.
I grew up in a working-class town that was 99% white, northern/eastern European or Italian ancestry. The only division among us was where one went to church on Sundays. All houses had a mother and father and every adult worked. To do otherwise would have been disgraceful. There was zero crime, and kids were free to roam until dark. People left their keys in their cars overnight. No one talked about politics because the differences were slight, and everyone shared the same vision of what it meant to be American.
I imagine those are not the stories Obama wants to hear.
My dad once told me that I wouldn’t survive a walk through his old neighborhood in Chicago.

I have such a story. I don’t have blacks to be my neighbors. I’m Asian. I can be as political correct as I can but not in my neighbors. So far it works great so far
