Was he calling for the government to pay, or for the studios to pay?
I’ll admit I don’t know how the Screen Actors’ Guild works. How many members are there? Would it be practical for the studios to cover them all? Or just certain ones with X amount of experience?
Speaking of someone who might need some mental health care...GOOP

If you go into acting and its still just a part time job, you take other jobs to get you by between short gigs, or you live of family and/or friends until the acting starts to pay off or you give it up.
If you made it well off and on in acting, then unless you are stupid you are socking big chunks of earnings away so you’ll have something to lean on between assignments. When you have done as well as Terrance Howard then unless you are stupid you took some of your very good earnings and invested it, some for long term income and some for retirement.
If actors need anything - regarding mental healthcare - it’s an economic education about financial does and don’ts for actors.
