I prefer the medium history of the steakhouse

You don't see many of these anymore.
Ribeye, medium rare and a properly made Rye Manhattan.
About as good as it gets.

Brings back memories of the Bonanza and Ponderosa steak house chains back in the 60s and 70s. I also recall going to Chicago on weekends from college to visit Kroch’s and Brentano’s bookstore and a small hobby shop down downtown. We’d do lunch at one of the steak houses downtown and then off to a movie at the Bismarck Theater.
Cows eat grass and I eat cows.
Ribeye, BABY, medium with a nice Cabernet Sauvignon.
That was well done.
(Someone had to say it)

Yes, the source of the salad dressings in the stores since 1941.
Those who dont care for steaks can have chops, those who dont care for chops can have steaks. Dessert was apple pie, mince pie or a wedge of Stilton cheese.

Menu works for me.
Last Thursday we cooked 250 Niman Ranch Prime CAB steaks for attendees that attended a Beef Stocker field day at Kansas State that I coordinated.
The steaks were pure heaven!!

I’m partial to my local Higher Steaks franchise.
Boy, a steak sounds good right now. I had a decent dinner, but not steak.
I have NO IDEA what it is like today but when I was stationed in San Angelo, TX in 1984, Western Sky steakhouse was da bomb!!
I’ll never forget they had Sirloin steaks listed on the menu as:
Small: $8.25
Medium: $8.50
Large: $8.75
Ummmm, I’ll take the Large please :)
It was like butter. I’m a Ribeye guy but this Sirloin from Western Sky was beyond compare. Draped the plate too.

A few of my top fave steakhouses, across this great nation...
Pappas Bros (Houston) - the A5 (strip) is excellent
Vic & Anthony’s (Houston)
Keen’s (NYC)
Bern’s (Tampa)
Have tried Peter Luger, in B’lynn......meh.
Chicago has some nice steakhouses, as well.
BLT Prime, at Trump Hotel DC, isn’t too shabby, either.
Honestly, the best steak I’ve ever had is a toss-up. The first one was at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Seattle at the Grand Hilton Hotel. My wife and I both had Ribeyes, and they were absolutely fantastic. Of course I paid through the old schnozzola for that one, but it was worth it.
The other really good steak I’ve had was it the Wolf Lodge Inn just outside of Coeur d’Alene Idaho. It’s right off of Interstate 90, and if you miss the exit, you have to go quite a ways to find a place to turn around. I can’t remember the cut that I had, but it was delicious, juicy, and extremely tender.
“Waitress, can I get some ketchup, please?”
If I’m not at some nice place in Tokyo or a Ruth’s Chris or similar (where they have a 700+ deg oven) I typically prefer to buy my own and cook it myself.
