The Weekly Gardening Thread is a weekly gathering of folks that love soil, seeds and plants of all kinds. From complete newbies that are looking to start that first potted plant, to gardeners with some acreage, to Master Gardener level and beyond, we would love to hear from you.
If you have specific question about a plant/problem you are having, please remember to state the Growing Zone where you are located.
This thread is non-political, although you will find that most here are conservative folks. No matter what, you wont be flamed and the only dumb question is the one that isnt asked.
It is impossible to hijack the Weekly Gardening Thread. Planting, Harvest to Table Recipes, Preserving, Good Living - there is no telling where it will go and... that is part of the fun and interest. Jump in and join us! Send a Private Message to Diana in Wisconsin if you'd like to be added to our New & Improved Ping List.
NOTE: This is a once a week Ping List. We do post to the thread during the week. Links to related articles and discussions which might be of interest to Gardeners are welcomed any time!
It was a lot of fun, but also a LOT of work. I don’t miss THAT part at all. ;)
Since 2016 I’ve actually been able to have my OWN veggie gardens planted before the 4th of July! :)
Nice. I think you are really going to enjoy that greenhouse this fall. You have a great set up.
When I talked to Beau this evening (he’s in the MI UP for black bear hunting this week) I told him the only new beds he needs to build me are the ones that are on the south and west sides of our greenhouse for herbs and roses.
I think this gardening year was the year that REALITY caught up with me and I want to take things down a notch. ;)
Trees and shrubs? Additional low-maintenance landscaping? No problem! More garden beds? Nope! :)
I love the gardening segments on NHK-—the Japanese channel.
Hope you get it in the NW.
If I won $5 million dollars, I would not buy a new car or house....
I would have an authentic Japanese Garden installed in my backyard, and hire a skilled Japanese gardener to tend it.
