Around where I live if you have an advanced degree in biology, chemistry, or pharmacology you will have no problem finding a job with a base salary of about $190,000. If you have a liberal arts degree you can get a job as a barista or bartender.
I’m curious if those salaries include VP and C-level management. I’d like to see the average of rank and file and through middle management.

The big secret is all these companies outsource much of their labor at really low wages. The median $170k wage is all the top key folks.
Janitors, clerks, production folks middle management and ran k and file etc are outsourced or contracted to other companies for $40k per year or less jobs.
All a big lie..what they do.
That is exactly the point I was about to make when I started to read the company names. When I then read the above from the article. 8>)

been in tech for decades and your average mid tier salesperson or upper mid tier engineer/developer/manager makes well over what is listed below.
The other side of that coin is it’s not easy, it’s incredibly demanding, and very few can cut the lifestyle long term without destroying their personal lives.

I am not sure that is true, just looked up median salary for a Chemistry PhD is about $62K, slightly less for a Biology PhD, and around $70K for PhD Pharmacology. However, maybe you live in a really high cost of living area.
Too bad the NEA doesn’t tell you this in High School or preferably much earlier.

Designing microprocessors pays much better.
VP and C-Level are much higher, around $300k or more. This is mostly rank and file engineering ranks, likely an average of 10yrs experience.
Microsoft’s major revenue stream is from software sales. They make very little off of advertising, unlike the socials and Google.
