So now, it’s not just the National Felon League who has problems. Baseball also has a growing number of violent players who like to hit people, not just little white balls.
Don’t their contracts have a morals clause? They need one. Fire them the minute they’re convicted of a crime on anything greater than jaywalking.
At one time, professional athletes were considered heroes by kids. Today, they’re nothing but felons.
It always infuriates me when NBA and NFL or college football players commit violent crimes and then are evaluated by “the NBA says that due to the importance of the playoffs his trial will be delayed and he will be given parole in an arrangement with the court.” If the player is low in star quality then the virtue signalling goes way up “We in this league are highly respectful of women’s rights and strongly oppose any violent act against a woman....”
Hypocrites.
I agree innocent until proven guilty. Many are innocent. The MeToo crud is wrong.
But even arrest by police ruins a common man but is often an inconvenience to a national star. That’s what I mean.
Famous case:
“The Kobe Bryant sexual assault case began in July 2003 when the news media reported that the sheriff’s office in Eagle, Colorado, had arrested professional basketball player Kobe Bryant in connection with an investigation of a sexual ... The woman accused Bryant of raping her in his hotel room on July 1,....”
The NBA was strong in making sure he would not be kept out of any important NBA games for that accusation. Try that if the guy was a factory assembly line guy on the second shift. Too bad, buddy.
