Israel Election Results: Netanyahu’s Loss Creates an Opening for Trump — and for American Jewry
Haaretz ^ | 9/19/19 | Amir Tibon

WASHINGTON — The results of Tuesday’s election left U.S. followers of Israeli politics in a state of confusion, with Israel’s political future seemingly harder to predict than ever.

While it is clear to everyone in Washington that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lost the election, it is much less clear who actually won it. Also unclear: Whether Israel will have a government in the next few months or if another election will have to take place in the winter.

With 98 percent of the votes counted on Thursday afternoon, Netanyahu had almost certainly failed in both of his election objectives. First, his Likud party did not receive the largest number of seats, being two behind the centrist Kahol Lavan party led by former IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz. Second, and more crucially, the bloc of right-wing and religious parties that support giving Netanyahu legal immunity in the pending corruption charges against him fell well short of garnering the 61 seats necessary for a majority in the Knesset.

It is not over.

Only fools would count Netanyahu out.

Israel has tried socialists, liberals, and "centrists" in the past, and it didn't work. Some of the fringe "right wing" parties should have gotten behind Bibi. But they are like the American "losertarians", cut from the same cloth.

The Israeli electorate, like most, tends to drift leftward in times of relative security and prosperity, as people begin to forget to what they owe that security and prosperity. That being said, it’s not clear to me that Netanyahu has “lost” any more so than the last election there.

it must be noted that Haaretz is a consistently far leftwing mouthpiece.... and no doubt it would support a leftist Quisling style government (that would sell out or just give away the land). It may be no coincidence that it is sold with the New York Times, another far leftist and often seditious type of propaganda piece

I will await the real results

Nothing fake about. Bibi’s best hope is a third election.

The sad cycle of humanity is adversity inspires hard work and action which leads to growth and prosperity which leads to expectations and entitlement which leads to complacency and downfall which leads to adversity.

And so the cycle begins again. The libtard brand of socialism is designed to keep the sheeple hovering between complacency and downfall so the ruling class can stay in power. But eventually, they run out of other people's money.

The headline is fake news. It gets worse from there. The source is a leftist rag, btw.

Yes, Haaretz is noxious Leftist garbage, but Netanyahu will get nothing this round he couldn’t have gotten in April, and couldn’t have gotten before the April election.

All the while with the Left singing a siren song that echoes the line from the first page of Don Quixote, telling anyone who will listen to "lay down the melancholy burden of sanity."

The current situation is a deadlock, much like before, not a loss for Netanyahu as this fake newser tries to present.

“The libtard brand of socialism is designed to keep the sheeple hovering between complacency and downfall so the ruling class can stay in power. But eventually, they run out of other people’s money.”

In the end, Netanyahu win this election and assume his 5th term in office. I think that it will be during this term that Netanyahu will move Israel away from Socialism by abolishing socialized medicine in Israel.

The Left interprets any tie as a win for them, and a loss within cheating range as a tie.

Haaretz is the NY Slimes of Israel, only worse.

“Netanyahu lost” is just their opinion, which they are pushing on everyone else.

That he didn’t outright win is clear...but I have a sneaking suspicion (and good vibes) that he will continue to be Prime Minister.

Netanyahu needs to take all measures orthodox, unorthodox and ultra-orthodox to stay in power.

I’m in Israel tight now, and they’re as confused as we are. On the one hand, people say that a lot of the strength of his opposition came from the involvement of the ultra-orthodox, who are always a destabilizing factor, especially in a parliamentary system such as israel’s.

Other people, say that he’s been in office for 13 years and they jury’s want a change. So we shall see, i guess.
