I know that area well. Very close to the McCormick Center. No place in the south side is safe, but I expected it to be another typical story about Englewood or Auburn Gresham.

BUT...with that attitude, better one finds other employment before he gets himself or others killed because he was ‘unable’ to do the job he signed up to do.
Nothing worse than someone on the payroll just for the check and bennies works the same at McDonalds as well as the local PD.

And, those who marry for money, earn it.
That said, the many new written and unwritten rules have made being a copper undesirable for an honest person. Not because of the physical dangers, very few will volunteer to deal with constant BS.

When my cynicism kicks in, I say that the above and the feminization of the Military & society in general
- nothing wrong with feminales BUT it is ‘against the law’ (seemingly) to be a virile male -is part of a Master plan to destroy us from within.
When I went in the Navy, part of it was to ‘get away’ from the people they are forced to co train with today.
We had a saying, ‘If Unka Sugah wanted you to have wife, she would have been in your sea bag’, today they are expected to serve alongside all and any sort of freaks, females get pulled from units because they are pregnant etc etc etc
It and the ‘treatment’ of Police today sure leads one down the conspiracy path.....
