I met a Congress-gal today I knew years ago, when she was 23,
And she was married to a widower who was as handsome as could be.
Now this widower had a grown-up son who had shining hair of red,
And this ‘s mother fell in love with him and soon the two were wed.
Now this made the dad her son-in-law and changed her very life
For her son was her father because he was his mothers’s spouse.
Now to complicate the matter even though it brought her joy,
She soon became the mother of a bouncing baby boy.

Now his little baby then became a brother-in-law to his mom,
And so became her uncle and though that made her very sad,
For if the baby was her uncle then that also made him brother,
Of the widower’s grown-up son who was of course her step-father

Now her mother’s spouse had a daughter who kept them on the run,
So she became her grandchild for she was her son’s daughter
Her spouse is now her father’s father and of course that makes her blue
Because although She’s his wife She’s his grandmother too!

It sounds funny i know, but really it’s so.

Now her spouse is her grandfather, then she is his grandchild.
And every time she thinks of it it nearly drives her wild!
For now she has become the strangest case you ever saw,
As wife of her grandfather, She’s her own grandma!
