REAL science is NEVER settled, that’s how we know “climate science” is junk science.
I work in academe so this is rank heresy with my colleagues but far, far too many of them have constructed a false god of the scientific method. While it can produce many positive results, it is not infallible.

It has been ignored by most American doctors/hospitals/HMOs and those who pushed the Statin drugs on us for decades and the high carb diets.
There have been zero published studies comparing a Paleo type of diet to the high carb/veggie centered diet re heart attacks and cardio problems with both diets.h
One other thing to consider re the push of Statins, if they did anything positive, they supposedly prevented early heart attacks. For those of us in our late 70’s and 80’s, that is past the early heart attack life span.

Isolating a variable does not always produce valuable information, and it can promote misleading studies.
What are animal fats? From which animal? Was it grass fed or not?
What are vegetable fats? From which plant? Was it whole and fresh, with its natural antioxiadants, or was it denuded, and rancid? Was it rich in Essential Fatty Acids or not?
The way to a healthy heart is to run.
