I work in academe so this is rank heresy with my colleagues but far, far too many of them have constructed a false god of the scientific method. While it can produce many positive results, it is not infallible.

It’s just a tool. Like a hammer or a 1911. Tools are misused by people with malevolent intentions every day.

Scientific methods are not infallible but, properly applied, tend to be self correcting. This is the operation of “normal science.” When anomalies appear they often are first ignored, but eventually have to be accounted for, if the scientific community is functioning as it should.

The global warming enterprise deliberately aborts the functioning of the scientific community to prevent the emergence of contradictory results. That the damage is largely self inflicted does not mitigate the harm being done.

Isn’t that the point of the Scientific Method; too expose flaws, if any, in the preceding study methods and data.

“While it can produce many positive results, it is not infallible.”

You mean like the invention of heroin as a pain killer and DDT to kill the lice on the soldiers coming back from Europe. Or even the hidden aspect of before there was the use of hydrolyzing foods to increase their shelf life, there was no type II diabetes.

I’m a firm believer that now someone will come up with something wrong with everything we say or create in time down the road. Everything on this planet is there to get you one way or another. Doom and gloom.

But I’m also reminded about someone making the comment that there are a lot of health nut people in the hospital dying of nothing.
