Republican State Senator David Simmons is leading an effort in the Florida legislature to drastically change gun ownership in his state.

Simmons, who is the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, announced on Wednesday that he wants to bar anyone under age 25 from legally purchasing or owning a firearm, the Orlando Sentinel reports.

In addition to his gun-grabbing tendencies, he’s an illegal alien panderer. It’s time he was primaried. Or recalled, if possible.

[During the 2014 legislative session, Simmons sponsored legislation that would have allowed “an applicant who is an unauthorized immigrant who was brought to this state as a minor and who has been a resident of this state for more than 10 years and has fulfilled all requirements for admission to practice law in this state” to be admitted to the Florida Bar, Simmons spoke strongly in favor, arguing, “We’re going to right an injustice.”[8]]

Why does a 21yr old cop or deputy get more rights than a 24yr old member of the military that is in a Ranger Battalion, PJ, Combat Controller, TACP?

Why does a public SERVANT get more rights than a Citizen, for whom the public SERVANT works?

Prostitutes paid for by Soros to seduce, video, & bribe.

Now he’s a all of a sudden a ‘gun-control’ advocate.

I’m with you.

Hell, go to any range that offers a USPSA/IPSC match on the weekends. You’ll see very few, if any, LEOs at them. And you’ll see some folks that can handle a gun like nobody’s business. I started shooting matches in ‘04. I was one of the few, if not, the only cop that ever showed up regularly. It was a very humbling experience in the beginning.

So far, with similar laws, law enforcement officers have been exempt.

Make that some similar laws. Others, like the Lautenberg Amendment, cause police and soldiers with restraining orders to be discharged.

Ok, I'll play along. Most mass shooters are young 20 something males. I don't recall any female mass shooters so why punish under 25 females?

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2018/apr/04/youtube-shooting-gun-attacks-in-the-us-are-rarely-carried-out-by-women An FBI study of 160 “active shooter” incidents between 2000 and 2013 found that only 6 incidents, or 3.8%, were perpetrated by a female shooter. All six of these female shooters used handguns

They can’t buy beer or cigarettes, either. The 17 year olds can’t legally sign anything without mama’s signature and they can’t vote for their Commander in Chief.

The only law that I can think of that could be, kind of, similar is the SAFE ACT in NY. I know of no other law in the USA that does what this clown is proposing.

But, when they originally drafted the SAFE ACT, they didn’t exempt law enforcement, initially. It wasn’t until the police unions read the thing, brought it up to the legislature and they had to vote on the exemption. What’s really weird about the SAFE ACT is how they treat law enforcement from outside the state of NY and retirees. It’s confusing, but shows that they have no idea what they’re doing.

I got it! All we have to do is pass a law that makes it illegal to shoot a person with a gun.

That was easy, wasn't it?

Maybe he just wants to help the black market gun industry.

There’s seems to a lot of interest in that lately.

Most politicians are morons. Otherwise, they’d have the skills to work for a living in the competitive private sector.

I think they need to settle on the idea of the age of majority. When is a person an adult?

It seems fair that adults cannot be dependent on parents except for medical reasons. Adults can vote, buy and consume alcohol, drive, marry, enter into contracts, and on and on. Children can’t. decide when a person is and adult and then treat them like one. Children’s rights can be restricted, but those rights should be restricted all together.

A child is irresponsible, by definition.

Add an amendment to include voting.
