The destructive power of 40 tons of laser-guided bombs dropped by the US Air Force on what it termed an 'ISIS infested island' in Iraq has been captured by satellite images. Before and after photos of Qanus Island, which sits in the middle of the Tigris River in central Iraq clearly show how much of the island's lush, green foliage was burnt to a cinder after American forces using F-15 and F-35 jets essentially carpet bombed the small strip of land. The mission targeted the island after intelligence was received that the location was used as a hiding place for jihadi fighters.

“Why use a bunch of F-15s and F-35s when one BUFF could do the job?”
It’s way more fun a little at a time. Like eating a nice chocolate. It needs to be savored.
Cue the global warmists and enviromental whackos. Oh the humanity! Oh my aching "carbon credits"! LOL.
This is peanuts. During the fight over Khe Sanh, 40,000 tons of ordnance were dropped on NVA and VC units. Tac nukes were contemplated, although never used.

Now let’s give the same gifts/presents to the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Not sure. Wonder why they did not use NApalm. Is it forbidden now? I know phosphorus is except for “marking” targets...
... or cheap artillery rounds... a walking barrage would cost what? Take maybe an hour or 2.
Those F-35s were real “stealthy” with JDAMs hanging from the outsides...
Big difference - this is one little island.
They carry them internally.
They carry them internally.
Did the island “tip over and capsize”?
The island now has many holes that will fill with water and provide new watering holes for animals and habitats for amphibeans.
Ordinance gets old pilots need practice.
Maybe, maybe not. Depends on what the USAF was trying to do here: achieve a major affect on target, or test the F-35’s weapons release from the internal weapons stores. Dropping a pair of small diameter bombs per sortie is a very expensive way to make an impression on the enemy unless they have the means to down the aircraft.
They would get out of town...unless you would cover whole area...plus planes could go after boats leaving...plus proficiency run is not a bad thing..
Oh Ya, eat it Islam! Heh
A Whole ‘Lotta
AkBar goin’ on!
