That is not a bad idea. I have a friend that restores old cars and he puts seat belts in them even if they didn’t have them...............

Except for one thing, The mechanical knowledge of the CHP is far below acceptable competency at a minimum. More towards the inept side as a whole, even accident investigators. They are wrong far far more often than they are right and far far too self righteous to listen to REAL mechanics.. Been there.

My dad did that when he was a car/auto body mechanic back in the 50’s. He also installed tail lights/directionals on some of the older models before that era.

I don’t have a problem with it at all but knowing government, especially in California, its just the foot in the door to retrofitting air bags, anti-pollution controls and everything else on restored vehicles.

And of course none of this will solve the problem of irresponsible driving to begin with.
