It proves my point. Nobody is going to stand there with a gun in their hand with a car baring down on them and not shoot.
With headlights on, good luck looking in the vehicle to see if there are kids there.
Every person with a gun in their hand is going to defend themselves by shooting at the driver.
Chances are, if they are trying to steal the car or other things, they may let the people in the car go.
One way you have 100% of the people shooting. The other you may have no shots fired.
Odds seem better by stopping.

I gotta ask. What happens when you stop for the shooter and he points a gun at you and orders you out of the car with your kids still in it?
