People are voting who weren't alive when this happened. We have to remember.

People are voting who weren't alive when this happened. We have to remember. Those same people don't understand it when Omar says "Some people did something".

As far as anyone is allowed to know today, 9/11 was an accident. A strange mishap that occurred because some people did something.

Healthy societies dont memorialize getting their asses kicked. "Remember Pearl Harbor" galvanized not a few actions in WWII, keep in mind...
Memorializing isn't glorifying - it's remembering so as to not let happen again.

We will just check you off as being one hundred percent against Pearl Harbor day then. It’s good that you revealed who you really are.

You ever hear of:
“Remember the Alamo”
“Remember the MAINE”
“Remember PEARL HARBOR”?
“Healthy” Societies do “remember” and do their best to prevent a REPEAT.
Overcoming the setback leads one to victory.
( Yes, I didn’t mention 9/11) We are still working on that one.

Sadly far too many of those among us have forgotten the events of that horrific day.
What really pisses me off though, are those among us who REFUSE to remember. Those who would say that this country deserved what happened and deserves more of the same. Those people who are working overtime to see it happen again.

About 15 years ago we took a day trip to NYC and spent some time at Ground Zero. We walked by a small fire station which,IIRC,was basically right across the street from the towers. Several firemen were standing outside (it was summer) and they told us that they lost several guys from that station.

Healthy societies dont memorialize getting their asses kicked.Really?
"Remember the Alamo" - The Alamo is located in San Antonio
"Remember the Maine" - The Maine was raised and taken out to sea and sunk, but it's crow's nest occupies part of Arlington cemetery where those sailors were laid to rest
"Remember Pearl Harbor" - the Arizona memorial and a dozen smaller plaques around Pearl Harbor recognize Dec. 7th.
While the Alamo is unique as the men knew they would die, none of the men on the Maine, or the survivors of the attack on Pearl knew they were going to die that morning.
Neither did the people who were just going on with their lives that September morning.
That is why 9/11 is memorialized and the tragedy of the vermin who took those lives are remembered.
