The good news is that the Bahamas is not nor has ever been a tributary of the USA. Iirc it’s British. Let them deal with it. (They have boats and supplies on the way We should just handle the immediate survival.— food water, generators etc). They may ultimately buy from our mainland ( its close) but the responsibility is NOT ours.

On July 10, 1973, The Bahamas became a free and sovereign country, ending 325 years of peaceful British rule. However, The Bahamas is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations and we celebrate July 10th as Bahamian Independence Day.
