This brings to mind that startling paper/article posted a while back by the physics department at the University of California, Riverside:

       "Is the Big Bang a black hole?"

If you take the time to check out that link, you'll see that the last section in that article is entitled "Even so, could the Big Bang be a black or white hole?".   (Quite frankly, I wouldn't touch that question with a ten-foot pole!)
