The problem with all of these “pre” theories is that while they recognize that present physical laws only have meaning within our own universe, the theories invariably require some aspect of our universe to have been present before the singularity. In this case, a black hole which is a construct of our present universe had to pre-exist.
THE singularity? A singularity is a mathematical concept, not a physical reality. Some physical things may be treated mathematically as a singularity even if they are not actually infinitely small. Whether a black hole hundreds of light years away is infinitely small, or not is irrelevant. The math works. The odds are pretty good that you can't really pack all the mass making up a black hole into a spot that has no volume.
