Kroger, the United States’ largest supermarket chain, announced a corporate decision Tuesday about customers who choose to open carry in their stores – don’t do it unless you are a law enforcement officer. This announcement follows on the heels of Walmart’s decision to ask the same of its customers where the law allows guns to be openly carried.

See it frequently here in Arizona.

Well you used to. Now that we are Illinois West, we will soon only be seeing morons, traffic, ninnies and taxes.

It was a good run while it lasted, Arizona. RIP

Forget to add, see my tagline!

I know it’s not “Law” in this thread, but I’m pushing back against this contrived PC BS any time I may.

So now if an armed shooter goes into a Kroger, he’s breaking the rules!

They are a Business and they can decide whether they want to allow Open Carry in their Stores. People can choose to spend their money there or not if they disagree with the Policy.

Personally, I am not an Open Carry advocate. IMHO it can make you the first Victim of a determined Criminal.

I prefer the element of surprise, which is why I carry Concealed.

That being said, An Armed Society is a Polite Society.

When I was training Americans in Nashville, there were plenty of times I saw open carry. I always told them it’s good that they are exercising their rights. I myself would prefer concealed anyways to maintain the surprise, but open does have it benefits too.

I did see one guy open carry close to the Sumas border. I grew up right across the border in the outskirts of Abbotsford, and as a kid I’d see it quite a bit. More recently, I went down for some diesel when I was visiting my folks and saw a guy at the gas station just lugging his auto on his hip. I don’t even look twice. I may be more used it than a lot of people, but I don’t see it as any big deal whatsoever.

Wal Mart and Kroger should get used to no more open carriers shopping in their stores.

Right. It's more dangerous to leave a firearm in your car than to carry it wherever you go. So customers might probably just tuck it in their belts or in their purses. That's probably better, anyway. Keep a potential shooter guessing, eh?

Whether or not anyone bothers to carry in Kroger stores, the decision by the Cincinnati supermarket--as announced--shows a serious misunderstanding of the psychological dynamics, involved.

George Washington urged the Swiss system of arming their teenagers with military grade weapons, in part because it was so beneficial in building character & a sense of moral responsibility in their young men, If you are familiar with the crime rate in Switzerland through the centuries, you will understand Washington's point.

Right & Duty To Keep & Bear Arms

Krogers would be better advised to sponsor training of our youth in the safe & responsible use of firearms, than to insult law abiding citizens,

The present orgy of misuse will not be cured by insulting or disarming those who understand the difference between the Swiss model--based on maximum personal responsibility--and the San Francisco hand-wringing, based on the exact opposite.

It is way past time for some people to wake up and understand the heritage they are destroying.

Why not a sign saying "THIEVES AND ROBBERS WELCOME"

Well, how about change that to "THIEVES, ROBBERS, AND CONCEALED CARRY PATRONS WELCOME" ?

I have witnessed open carry in KY many times. Walmart, Kroger, Subway etc... No one pays it any mind in the mountains. In Lexington or Louisville some snowflakes would probably piss themselves.

Walmart and Kroger will find out the same way Little Dicks and Gillette did when they dove head first into leftist politics, there are consequences for their actions.

I don’t disagree with your intent but many people get caught in the word game. And I’m not degrading you or anyone that thinks as you do, but the reality is there are no man made rights.

Rights by their nature cannot be taken away. Every human has Human Rights regardless of the situation or circumstances surrounding him. But as long as rights can be infringed or denied, they therefore cannot remain rights. Only God can give out rights. Anything that can be denied or restricted is a privilege. God put you here, after that all bets are off because God leavers us to our own ways. And even the right to live, he only real right, can be denied by man, legally or not. So there are no rights according to man, just to God without man’s misinterpretation or direct disagreement. Sure blows up the justice system, doesn’t it?
