Yet when somebody like Jerry Jones or Snyder buy a team, they think just because they are passionate fans that they are smarter than career football men.

Jerry Jones bought the Cowboys for $140 million. The franchise is now worth $5 Billion.

Jerry must be doing something right.

We are talking about two different things. Sports teams values have skyrocketed in recent years. Jerry has done some things right, you are correct. I was thinking about the turmoil which has surrounded some teams with prominent owners, such as Jerry, who has been his own GM.

They have won but three playoff games and have barely better than a .500 regular season record over the last 22 years. Where it actually matters, he’s done poorly.
